Hi, I’m Emilia – welcome to my world!
I’m a food, travel, and culture creator based in Allen, Texas, with a deep belief that the best way to understand the world is to sit down at someone’s table.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, I grew up in a culture where food was never just food but celebration, memory, identity, and love. That foundation sent me on a lifelong journey across more than 54 countries, eating in homes, markets, and restaurants that most travel guides never mention, and slowly learning that hospitality is one of the few things every culture on earth has in common.
That’s the heart of everything I create. My flagship series, Hosting the World, takes one country per weel — its food, its traditions, the way it welcomes guests — and brings it to life at my table in Texas. From Ethiopian coffee ceremonies to Turkish çay culture to the Pakistani BBQ tradition, I research each culture with care, cook the real dishes, and share the stories that make them matter. Not as a tourist. As someone who has been there, broken bread there, and come home wanting to do it justice.
You’ll find global recipes, cultural deep-dives, entertaining inspiration, and a perspective shaped by 54 countries, a Puerto Rican upbringing, and a Korean-American household. My goal is simple: to make the world feel a little more familiar — one meal, one table, one country at a time.
How It Started
I didn’t set out to become a content creator. For years, I worked in finance — a career that took me around the world and put me across the table from people from every background imaginable. And through all of it, I noticed the same thing over and over: the most meaningful moments never happened in the office. They happened over food.
A home-cooked meal in an auntie’s kitchen. A shared dish at a street market. A cup of tea offered by a stranger. Food kept showing up as the thing that made connection possible, regardless of language, culture, or context.
When I finally started creating content, I knew I didn’t want to make recipe videos only; I wanted to make something that honored the full story — the culture, the tradition, the people, the why behind what’s on the plate. That became Hosting the World: a weekly series where I research and recreate one country’s food and hospitality culture, cook a full menu, and share what I learned — not just about the food, but about how that culture understands generosity, gathering, and care.
Today I’m based in Plano, Texas, creating weekly content on YouTube, sharing behind-the-scenes on Instagram, and building toward something bigger: a studio kitchen, a cookbook, and eventually, the kind of brand that makes people feel more curious about the world we live in.
